July 17. Story and photos by Jason Benavides. Total Wine is settling into the new Cornelius location at The Shops at the Fresh Market just fine. Store Manager John Creuzberger says, “we’re happy to be part of the community and serving Lake Norman.”

The new location includes an expanded cigar selection and walk-in humidor.

Benefits of the new location include the bigger 21,000 square foot location, more parking and curbside delivery spaces and “easy access from I-77.”

The store moved from Birkdale Village in Huntersville.

Some of the new features in the Cornelius location include an expanded cigar selection and walk-in humidor. There’s also a classroom that seats 36 and will hold events such as wine education and more. Online signups will begin in September.

The bigger space also allows for more beer and wine tasting stations. The Brewery District already has a full lineup of craft beer vendors in July.

Permits for keg sales and the walk-in beer cooler arrived late last week so it’s business as usual for Total Wine.
