May 13. The new Heroes Car Wash on the site of the former Carolina Springs Auto Spa on West Catawba is expected to open this fall.

Heroes spokesman Josh Moore said the facility will include state of the art car wash equipment, as well as 28 customer vacuum and amenities stations.

Heroes Car Wash was founded in 2018 and remains independently owned and operated by two best friends — one based in the Charlotte area and the other in Raleigh. Current locations include Cary, Asheville, Salisbury and Wilson. In addition to Cornelius, another  Heroes car wash is planned at the Shoppes at Davis Lake center.

“We are absolutely pumped to begin serving people in Cornelius! We are aiming for a September 2025 opening, although construction projects have a tendency to throw curveballs so that timeline is still tentative at this point,” Moore said.

Heroes facilities typically have between 15 and 20 team members, depending on the mix of full-time and part-time roles.
