May 4. It’s National Travel & Tourism Week! Visit Lake Norman will honor the spirit of travel throughout the week.

VLN has announced its Making Waves Hospitality Award winners for 2019.

Hotels:

• James Pryor, weekend front desk manager for the Hampton Inn Lake Norman in Cornelius for the guest service representative category
• Erin Hewitt, director of sales for the Country Inn & Suites in Huntersville for sales
• Alicia Fisher, general manager of the Hampton Inn Lake Norman in Cornelius for management

The John Kurti Unsung Hospitality Hero category award winner recognizes an individual who goes above and beyond to make Lake Norman a great destination and was awarded to Greg Llewellyn, visitor services associate with the Carolina Raptor Center.

Other award winners include Port City Club for restaurant of the year; the Junior Volleyball Association Challenge, youth volleyball tournament for event of the year; and Carolina Grace, a private yacht for venue of the year.
