Rock the Park summer concert series 

Carolina Soul Band brings soul sounds of groups like The Drifters, The Coasters, Smokey Robinson. Food trucks will open at 6 pm and the show begins at 6:30 pm. Outside food and beverage is permitted with the exception of alcohol. Small coolers are allowed. Liberty Park, 25 E. Iredell Ave., downtown Mooresville.

Movies in the Park

Movies begin at dusk and are open to the public, free of charge and will be shown at Veterans’ Park – Downtown Huntersville. Bring  blankets and lawn chairs. Check website for movie selection.

“The Breakfast Club” plays Jun e 11 in the Outdoor Cinema Series.

Outdoor Cinema Series

Nostalgia Night for adults only with the “The Breakfast Club” – R (1985) at Smithville Park, 19710 South Ferry St. Weather permitting, movies will begin at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.). Gate opens at 6:30 p.m.,; concessions available for purchase will include a food truck and a local beer vendor.  Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Coolers and picnic baskets are OK.

Music at the Mill

6:30 pm pre-show exhibit and reception; 8-9:30 show. Toby Lightman. Tickets $45.   Cain Center for the Arts’ Cornelius Arts Center,19725 Oak St. Suite 1, Cornelius.

Hot Grill Summer Cookout and Movie event  

11 am – 3 pm cookout at Lake Norman State Park picnic grounds, 759 State Park Road, Troutman. Meals can be ordered using QR codes displayed on Smithfield-branded buoys in the lake or signage on the beach. Food will be delivered directly to boats on the lake by servers on jet skis or on foot to attendees’ towels on the beach.

Free outdoor movie 7:30-10:30 pm at Martin Luther King Jr. Park Amphitheater, 911 Lakewood Drive, Statesville. Movie goers will get to enjoy pop culture classic “The Goonies” and be treated to complimentary snacks, including Smithfield Maple Thick Cut Bacon-sprinkled popcorn and candied bacon.

“Junion”

Jim Warren Community Day

10 am – 2 pm.  Free admission to walk the Raptor Trail  and participate in activities by community partners, bird demonstrations, a community art project. Food truck on site. Carolina Raptor Center, 6000 Sample Road, Huntersville.

The America’s Got Magic
