Meck seeks input on Environmental Justice Study

Oct. 4. MeckNC.gov needs residents’ voices to understand the environmental concerns in each community.

Two outreach sessions will he held this month in Lake Norman.

Environmental Justice is a movement to ensure all people have equal access to clean air, clean water, fresh food, and healthy housing, regardless of race, color, national origin or income.

The county is working with a consultant to conduct an Environmental Justice Study, which will lead to the county’s Environmental Justice Action Plan.

Outreach sessions

Food and giveaways will be provided at each event.

Feedback will determine how the county moves forward with the Environmental Justice Action Plan.

Environmental Justice outreach sessions dates, times and locations:

6-8 pm | Oct. 18. Northern Regional Recreation Center, 18121 Old Statesville Road, Cornelius

6-8 pm | Oct. 25. David B. Waymer Recreation Center, 14008 Holbrooks Road, Huntersville
