March 10 NCDHHS coronavirus update

March 10. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 1,861 new cases of COVID-19 today, 188 of them in Mecklenburg County.

Hospitalizations were at 1,075 statewide.

Deaths

There were 43 new deaths statewide attributable to the coronavirus.

Testing

The statewide positive test rate is at 5.3. In Mecklenburg, the positive test rate was 4.9 percent, again under the goal of 5 percent.

Mecklenburg

In Mecklenburg County, the NCDHHS reported 188 new cases.

North Mecklenburg

Cornelius: 4 new cases, 2,564 cumulative; 23 deaths total.

Davidson: 2 new cases, 1,448 cumulative; 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 9 new cases, 5,217 cumulative; 47 deaths total.
