Lorene Iris Hunsucker Dresser, 92, of Cornelius, died April 2, 2015. She was born on February 9, 1923 in Startown, NC to the late Lonnie and Bessie Hunsucker. She was one of 8 children, growing up on the family farm. She left home to go to college at Lees McCrae, studying to be a medical secretary, where she met Al. Lorene and Al were married on February 8, 1943 and recently celebrated their 72^nd anniversary. Lorene served as president of the PTA several terms as her children went through school. Lorene served her church as Clerk of Session for several years and is a recipient of the Honorary Life Award of the Presbyterian Women of The Church.

Lorene is survived by her husband; children, Kenneth and wife Barbara of Cornelius and Michael and wife Susan of Edmund, OK; son-in-law, Jason of New Orleans, LA; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Becky Hill of Raleigh and Betty Erickson of Monroe; as well as brother-in-law and sister-in-law Phil and Bettie Dresser of Wilmington. Her daughter, Anita preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel Presbyterian Foundation, 19920 Bethel Church Rd., Cornelius, NC 28031.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, April 7 at Bethel Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Cain and Rev. J.E. Wayland, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends in the Family Life Center from 10-11 prior. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
