By Ryan Moxon — Lake Norman Little League begins play this morning in the Southeast Region tournament, competing for the opportunity to advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, later this month.

The U12 All-Stars — now representing North Carolina — take on Virginia this morning at 11 a.m. after Thursday night’s game was postponed because of weather. Virginia is represented by Southwestern Youth Association Little League, based in Centreville, Virginia.

The regional tournament features a winners bracket and an elimination bracket. Teams must lose twice to be eliminated. The championship game is scheduled for Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Lake Norman Little League advanced to the regional tournament two weekends ago with a win over South Durham Little League.
