LKN Kiwanis announces grants to key agencies

April 23. The Lake Norman Kiwanis Club has made five contributions to local agencies helping support those in need during the coronavirus pandemic:

—Angels & Sparrows $1,150

—Loaves & Fishes $1,000

—Ada Jenkins $1,000

—Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina $1,000

—Caterpillar Ministries $1,000

The club continues to support high school students in local Key Clubs.

The club once again received numerous applications for Kiwanis scholarships from Key Club members attending college this fall. A total of eight $1,000 scholarships were presented to seniors at Hopewell High School, Lake Norman Charter School and North Mecklenburg High School.

The club meets on Thursdays at noon at Brooklyn South in Cornelius.
