Learn Music has opened a second campus in downtown Cornelius, expanding its music instruction programs to meet growing demand across the Lake Norman area.

The locally owned music school opened its new Main Street Campus this week in the historic McCall House at 20601 North Main Street. The downstairs level is now open for private lessons while construction continues upstairs.

The new location is within walking distance of Learn Music’s existing Townie Campus and adds classrooms and band rooms, along with four new instructors. Learn Music said it serves nearly 500 students each week from Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Mooresville and surrounding communities.

“We’ve been dreaming about this for a long time, and we couldn’t be more excited to open our Main Street Campus right in the heart of downtown Cornelius, a town we love so much,” founder Adam Wilson said. “This old house has so much history, and turning it into a music school lets us bring even more music, art, and joy to the community.”

To mark the opening, the school is offering free trial lessons at the Main Street Campus through Aug. 31. An open house is planned for Aug. 15 and will include tours, free trial lessons and live performances by Learn Music’s Legends bands.

Learn Music was founded in 2014 by Cornelius native Adam Wilson and his wife, Rachael. It offers private music lessons, rock band programs, recitals and preschool music classes.
