Last call: RSVP for Newsmakers Breakfast on new hospital in Cornelius

Rendering of Atrium Health Lake Norman in Cornelius

March 8. The Newsmakers Breakfast March 12 at The Peninsula Club will feature Bill Leonard, the executive behind the new Atrium hospital that is coming to the former Augustalee site in Cornelius.

The hospital, originally valued at $153 million, now represents a “significantly larger” investment in the community, Leonard said.

Leonard will take questions directly from the audience.

The 170,000-square-foot hospital and an adjacent 72,000-square-foot office building will bring an estimated 280 jobs to Cornelius, not to mention more access to healthcare. The second phase of construction will add 122,000 square feet to the hospital building.

Officially named Atrium Health Lake Norman, it is a game-changer for the Cornelius economy.
