July 23. Four puppies were found in a ditch earlier this week and are at Lake Norman Humane receiving emergency lifesaving care for Parvo.

Weighing barely 3 pounds at approximately 7 weeks old, they are dehydrated and malnourished. Parvo is a devastating virus that is all too often fatal in puppies. The prognosis is guarded, but Lake Norman Humane in Mooresville  is committed to doing all it can to save them, according to Jason Hayes, executive director.

“We need your help more than ever. In just over a month, LKNH has provided safe haven and lifesaving care to 11 Parvo puppies.

“In spite of the enormous cost of care, we have continued to respond to record surrender requests, while also assisting our municipal partners taking in their most vulnerable and at-risk animals whenever possible.

“We cannot do it without the support of our community. Please consider a lifesaving donation today,” Hayes wrote an appeal for donations.
