Jan. 26. NC Sen. Jeff Jackson, a Democrat, will run for North Carolina’s open US Senate seat in 2022. Sen. Richard Burr, a Republican, is not seeking re-election.

Jackson became the second-youngest senator in the NCGA in 2014. A captain in the Army National Guard, he is in his 18th year of military service.

In a video announcement released Tuesday morning, he outlined his plan to run an “energetic and transparent campaign” across North Carolina with town halls in every North Carolina county.
