May 21. On an upbeat note, there are still a few spots open at the Cornelius Jazz Festival in Smithville Park Saturday night. The event, which runs from 5 pm to 8 pm, is being put on by the Cornelius PARC Department and the Smithville Community Coalition. PARC Director Troy Fitzsimmons said as of 1 pm today, there were about a dozen spots open out of a total of 1,000 spots. Social distancing required. To register, click here.
