The event is free to attend, but registration is required, and donations are encouraged. Guests can enjoy a warm bowl of vegetable soup catered by Savory Moments and are invited to bring canned goods to donate to Caterpillar Ministries, a local non-profit organization that helps those in need in our community. You can also bring a picnic lunch to enjoy with your friends and family. At First Footin’, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about this ancient Scottish tradition through a guided walk around the property. 46th Annual Lake Norman New Year’s Day Barefoot Skiing Tournament
Noon-3 pm | Jan 1. Barefoot skiers from all over the East Coast come to compete in barefoot skiing starts, trick and endurance all in one single run. The Loch Norman Highland Games and Scottish Festival
Tickets and a new life patron program are on sale now; $30-$3,000. This is a traditional Scottish festival that takes place annually at Historic Rural Hill, Huntersville. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the event. Visitors can enjoy traditional Scottish music and dance performances, as well as athletic competitions such as caber tossing, hammer throwing, and tug-of-war.
