Immigration panel discussion Sept. 21

Sept. 14. Lake Norman Writers will present a panel discussion Sept. 21 entitled “Seeking Refuge: How Stories Can Save Us” at the Friends Quaker Meeting House in Davidson.

The program, which will delve into the power of story in the lives of refugees and immigrants, was inspired by Diya Abdo, founder of Every Campus a Refuge (ECAR). In addition to Abdo, panelists include poet Allison Elrod; essayist Gilda Morina Syverson; and NC Poet Laureate Joseph Bathani.

Tetiana Romanova from Odessa, Ukraine is the special guest.

The event, which is 6 pm to 7:30 pm next Thursday the 21st, is free and open to the public.
