Sept. 30. Ian is the center of attention here today, but look for it to be old news by tomorrow afternoon. You can expect plenty of wind and up to two inches of rain today, clearing tomorrow.

Traffic/roads

At 8 am, traffic was light in Cornelius. There were no issues on West Catawba between Hwy. 21 and Westmoreland, and on Hwy. 21 to West Catawba. I-77 was flowing smoothly.

Meck County offices

Mecklenburg County government offices close at noon. CharMeck 311 will be operate on a normal schedule Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., and has extended operating hours to Saturday, 7 am to 5 pm.
