Aug 30. The Hough Huskies rolled past Independence 35-0 on Friday night to improve to 2-0.

Hough scored 14 points in both the first and second quarters, opening with a 53-yard touchdown pass from Ethan Royal to wide receiver Jayden White on the second play of the game.

Royal completed 9 of 14 passes for 123 yards and was the Huskies’ leading rusher with 38 yards on eight carries. Sophomore Jamarion Morrison added 37 rushing yards, and senior Jayden White led receivers with 74 yards in the air.

The Huskies’ defense continued its strong start, led by senior defensive back Micah Bright with eight tackles. Four other defenders added six tackles apiece.

Hough, currently ranked as the No. 1 8A team by the Charlotte Observer, travels to Virginia on Friday for a matchup against Highland Springs.
