Construction crews ready site at River Rock Manor

Dec. 3. By Dave Vieser. While the commercial development at Alexander Farms remains stalled due to legal and financial issues, it appears that work has begun on the site where River Rock Manor will be built.

River Rock Manor, initially approved in 2020, is designed to be a 55+, 142-unit, three-story housing complex on the northern edge of the property. Amenities include a two-story clubhouse with a resident lounge, coffee bar and café, as well as a heated resort-style pool and sundeck.

Efforts to reach River Rock officials this week were unsuccessful. However, the erection this week of a US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) sign, along with the arrival of a construction trailer, site fencing and work crews, suggests that site preparation is underway.

Pricing for residences at the Manor will be announced closer to opening.

In an interview with Cornelius Today earlier this year, River Rock officials were hoping to begin construction during the latter part of 2025, with a fall 2026 grand opening.

Northeast of the Manor’s location lies River Rock at Alexander Farms, a 55+ community offering single-family homes for seniors. Homes are available for rent at River Rock now.
