Hough grad lands $2,500 scholarship, thanks to a job at the Teeter

Christopher Pennella, the son of Lisa and Michael Pennella, has won the Everett & Trudy Suddreth Scholarship of Excellence, worth $2,500, from the Carolinas Food Industry Council.

Christopher was among 50 students throughout North Carolina to be awarded such a scholarship, offered to high school and college students who work in the retail industry.

Christopher graduated from Hough High School in June, works at the Jetton Road Harris Teeter.

He will be attending NC​ State University this fall. The Pennellas live on Queensdale Drive.

The Carolinas Food Industry Council is part of the grocery division of the NC Retail Merchants Association​.​
