By Ryan Moxon — The Hough football team hosts Green Run (Va.) in a rare Saturday afternoon home game, looking to remain undefeated through the season’s midway point.

The Stallions are 3-0 this season and play in the second-largest division in Virginia. The team is ranked fourth in Class 5 this season after posting a 12-1 record last season, when it won the Class 5 Region A championship and advanced to the state semifinals before losing 20-14 to Indian River.

The Huskies defense will contend with Stallions senior quarterback Maurikus Banks, who ran for two touchdowns and threw for another last week as Green Run extended its five-year winning streak against teams in the Virginia Beach region, as well as Mahlek Marsh, a 6-5, 290-pound senior offensive tackle.

The Hough offense will face Green Run edge rusher Qwayvon Cleveland, a 6-foot-6, 205-pound Class of 2028 prospect who, as a junior, is already drawing attention from college recruiters because of his size and pass-rushing potential. The defense is also anchored by Corvin Watson, a 6-2, 215-pound junior linebacker, and Junious Clay, a 6-3, 210-pound junior edge rusher.

The game kicks off at 3 p.m. at Hough. Tickets are $11 on the GoFan app, and the game is scheduled to livestream on the NFHS Network with a subscription.
