Mooresville plans a yearlong party. Holy sesquicentennial Batman!

Dec. 28. The Town of Mooresville is turning 150, and planning events throughout 2023 to celebrate.

Here are some of the events

— New Year’s Eve Fireworks Spectacular on Jan. 14 at LangTree Lake Norman. Activities before the fireworks include music, food trucks, a Ninja run, face painting, balloon animals, and more. Complimentary parking is available on-site or a free round-trip shuttles from Merino Mill, 500 South Main St., and The Cove Church, 179 Langtree Road, will take you directly to the event beginning at 4 pm. Fireworks at 7 pm.

—Party like it’s 1873 Festival & Immersive Experience on March 3, the date Mooresville was incorporated in 1873. With everything from a John Moore look-alike contest to food trucks, beer vendors, music, period-themed actors, this festival will mark Mooresville’s official 150th anniversary. Downtown Mooresville. All day until 9 pm.

—Liberty Park Reimagined: A Concert Celebration 4:30-9 pm June 17. With a surprise headliner musical act, food, drink and ribbon-cutting, the much-anticipated grand re-opening of Liberty Park will be a community celebration.

Mooresville also will celebrate Stars and Stripes on Main on July 3; Bands, Brews & BBQ on Sept. 16; Mooresville Motorsports Festival on Oct. 3; and Classic Christmas in Mooresville on Dec. 8, 2023.
