Youth Orchestra Auditions 2021-22

Due to COVID-19 concerns and restrictions, Cornelius Youth Orchestras will be holding virtual auditions. Learn more: CYO 2021-22 Auditions.

June 10

LaLaCaboosa – Downtown Music Series

Southern Style Band. 6-9 pm at Veterans Park, Main Street and Maxwell Street, Huntersville. Grab your lawn chairs, blankets.

Ladies Night Out

5-8 pm at Birkdale Village. Come for a stroll through Birkdale Village as you shop special retail deals, enter into giveaways and enjoy a fun night out with your girl squad. The first 20 women to check in at the Grove across from Starbucks will receive a swag bag. If you’re not among the first 20 to arrive, grab a strolling map  at check in that includes a raffle ticket to enter into giveaways.

Love, Loss and What I Wore

Presented by the  Davidson Community Players, Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour St., Davidson. Tickets are $15-$25. Email boxoffice@davidsoncommunityplayers.org or call 704-892-7953. Explores the lives of women through 28 characters sharing their memories of love and loss as framed through the lens of the clothes they wore. Recommended ages 13 and older.

2nd Friday Street Festival Series

Casino Bowling Night

6:45 pm. Victory Lanes, 125 Morlake Dr., Mooresville.   $20. Tickets required.  Music, bowling and prizes; adults only. Casino Bowling is a No-Tap format, meaning you only need to knock down 9-pins on your first ball to receive a strike. Check-in starts at 5:45 pm.

Unplugged & Live: Virtual Music Festival

7 pm online. Advance registration required. Dear Soul Music Co. presents the Unplugged+Live: Virtual Music Festival. Featuring full band performances from Emanual Wynter, Tamra, Persona Bell, Aftanci, Arsena Schroeder and guests. Tune in for live music, giveaways and more.

June 12: SkynFolks perform at BoatYard Lake Norman

8 am to noon.  An outdoor, open air market, offering fresh produce, eggs, baked goods, dog treats, select craft items, free chef samples and more. Veterans Park, Main Street and Maxwell Street, Huntersville.

Growers’ Market

Birkdale Buds

10:15 am-noon. Bring your pre-school aged little bud for playtime  in the Grove at  Birkdale Village, Huntersville. Check in across from TCBY starting at 10:15 am. Crafts and activities will be available while supplies last. Bring your own blankets to sit on.

Yoga with Ilse

 The Victory Summit

9 am – 4pm. Lake Norman Business and Community Leaders declare “Victory” over COVID-19.  Learn how to WIN – using Wisdom, Integrity, and a Never Quit Spirit to march toward your personal goals. The $30 registration fee includes lunch with the proceeds benefiting The Hope House Foundation. Produced by Collaborative Solutions Group. The program features seven  speakers  including Lake Norman Chamber President & CEO Bill Russell. 9820 Northcross Center Court, Huntersville.

Symphony in the Park 2021

6 p.m.: Gates open 6 pm. Prelude Performance by Rockie Lynne 6:45 pm. Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Celebrate America! with Christopher James Lees conducting, 8:30 pm. Fireworks immediately following the performance.

Bring your blankets and chairs and join us for an evening with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra as we “Celebrate America” under the stars at the Bailey Road Park Bandshell. Concessions will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Wine and craft beer proceeds benefit Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists.

Parking is available at Bailey Road Park (very limited), Bailey Middle School, and the lower lot of WA Hough High School.  Shuttles available including ADA accessible options.

Coolers and picnic baskets are welcome. NO pets. glass bottles or containers, tobacco products, smoking, e-cigs, tents or open flames allowed.
