Girl Scout food drive

Oct. 4. The annual Girl Scouts Food Drive is this Saturday, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Local troops will be collecting food at the corner of Jetton Road and Peninsula Club Drive North and the corner of Harbor Light Boulevard and Flying Jib Road at the mini-park.

Where does the food go?

Donations benefit Loaves & Fishes and Ada Jenkins.

Details

Any food you can donate is appreciated, but no jars or glass. Donations of cash or checks (made out to Girl Scouts Hornets’ Nest Troop #2303) are also acceptable.

Pre-event drop-off

There will also be a Rubbermaid bin on the front porch of 17935 Peninsula Club Drive North (across from Peninsula Club Drive) this week.

Sizable goal

Girl Scouts Troops 1236, 2303 and 864 have a goal of collecting 1,000 lbs. of food.
