Gilroy leads in Early Voting

Candidates campaigning today at Jetton/242. Gilroy is in the center in blue

Nov. 2. By Dave Yochum. Former Town Commissioner Dave Gilroy leads in Early Voting results in a 9-way race for five seats on the Town Board.

The results may or may not indicate how voting went today, Election Day, when thousands more votes were cast.

Polls closed at 7:30 pm.

Gilroy led a team of four challengers who ran against the incumbent commissioners, saying the incumbents were not responsive to citizen concerns when they approved large residential developments.

Newcomers Todd Sansbury and Michael Osborne scored second and third place in Early Voting.

Incumbents Michael Miltich, Tricia Sisson and Jim Duke came in seventh, eighth and ninth in Early Voting.

All that said, the rankings will change as today’s voting results come in.

Full results will be reported later tonight.
