Get in touch with your inner paparazzi, for a good cause

“AN EVENING OF BELIEVING”

The Sandbox, a local nonprofit supporting the families of children who have been diagnosed with cancer or a life-threatening illness, is holding its 8th annual “An Evening of Believing” Prom” on Aug. 31 and they need paparazzi to make the evening sizzle.

“Our vision for this event, in the beginning, was to create a magical experience for families going through very difficult times,” said Mara Campolungo, co-founder of The Sandbox. “We want this to be a night they will never forget,” she says.

And paparazzi they need. The community is invited to volunteer as “Prom Paparazzi” for the event and provide the warm welcome on the red carpet for attending families. To learn more or register to attend, visit www.GotSandbox.org/Prom.

The prom will be held at the Embassy Suites in Concord on Friday, Aug. 31. The first limousines will begin arriving at approximately 6:30 p.m. The honorees have already been fitted for their prom dresses or tuxedos and they will be given the full prom treatment with hair and makeup done by the Aveda Institute. More than 250 special guests are expected.

The Sandbox serves families affected by life-altering illnesses year-round through its CARRE program, or Caring About Real Relationships Empathetically. The Sandbox works with families empowers them throughout their healthcare journey, providing evaluations, education, resources, connections and opportunities in order to meet the unique needs of each family.
