Free informational event for seniors covering simple wills, power of attorney

AprilĀ  25. Seniors are invited to a free estate planning presentation at the Ada Jenkins Center, Thursday, April 27.

The program, for those 60-plus years from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Ada Jenkins Center, 212 Gamble St., Davidson, will be led by attorney Soree’ Finely from the nonprofit Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy.

The session will feature information about how to make a simple will, health care power of attorney, a general power of attorney and living will.

“Families sometimes don’t realize how important these items are, or they think they’re too much aggravation,” said Diane Means, director of impact and engagement at the Ada Jenkins Center.

“But having these things in order will not only make sure that their loved ones’ wishes are being carried out, but that there’s no extra stress on the family down the road, during a very emotional time.”
