July 30. The former home of NFL great Reggie White has sold for $2.3 million after being listed at $2.6 million. The 10,000 square foot lakefront home is assessed at $3.7 million.

White, his wife Sara and their children lived in the home prior to his sudden death in 2004 due to sleep apnea. Sara started the Reggie White Sleep Disorders Research and Education Foundation which provides CPAP therapy equipment to those who might otherwise be unable to secure the equipment.

The house is one of the largest in Cornelius, with elevator access to all three living levels, a home gym, offices/studies on each level, a media room and a six-car garage, not to mention a saltwater pool, private dock and beach area.

The owners listed the house with Josh Tucker of HM Properties. Jan Cameron of Allen Tate brought the buyers to the table.

It was not the priciest home on the market in Cornelius, however.

According to Zillow, there are three homes in 28031 priced just under $4 million: 21123 Torrence Chapel Road, at $3.99 million; 16315 Belle Isle Drive, at $3.995 million; and 16915 Shipswatch Place at a more affordable $3.9 million.

DOM in the price range can wear out the fastidious show-ready seller: The Torrence Chapel home has been on Zillow more than 630 days.
