Jan. 20. Local food pantries in North Carolina’s received approximately 40,000 pounds of donations from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. With food pantries experiencing serious shortages due to COVID-19, and seeing an increase in need, the Church has increased its efforts to provide food commodities to organizations across the United States using its own transportation system, Deseret Transportations.

Recipients in Lake Norman include the Ada Jenkins Center of Davidson and Hearts & Hands Food Pantry of Huntersville.

The church established a nationwide website, www.JustServe.org, to help bring community volunteers together with opportunities to serve. More info: Sabrina Johnson at sabrinajohnson@JustServe.org
