UPDATE/NEW DATE. The Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture Department (PARC) will hold another community meeting at 630 pm Aug. 13 at Calvary Chapel Church to discuss the proposed extension of the McDowell Creek Greenway from Westmoreland Road to Catawba Avenue, connecting to the existing McDowell Creek Greenway trail between Birkdale and Westmoreland Road. This project was funded by the 2013 voter-approved parks and rec bond referendum. The public is being asked for feedback. Calvary Chapel is at 18731 W. Catawba Ave. More info: 704-892-6031, ext. 164.
