Fall Youth Sports Registration Nearing Deadlines
Registration is nearing an end for parents interested in enrolling their children for fall youth sports programs that partner with Cornelius Parks and Recreation department.
Registration for Lake Norman Little League’s fall baseball and softball season is open through Aug. 2 for boys and girls ages 4-16. Softball registration costs $220-$230, while baseball registration costs $185-$240. The season begins Aug. 17 and concludes Nov. 7.
Registration is open through Aug. 10 for the Charlotte Independence Soccer Club’s fall recreational program for boys and girls ages U4-U19. The cost is $115-$165, and uniforms must be purchased separately. Training begins the week of Sept. 7 or Sept. 14, depending on the age group. Games begin the weekend of Sept. 18 and conclude Nov. 8.
Registration is open through Sept. 1 or until enrollment is full. The league offers three coed divisions for ages 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12. Registration includes a jersey and flag belt. League play begins with scrimmages on Sept. 12. Regular-season games begin Sept. 19 and are scheduled to conclude by Oct. 24. The resident registration fee is $110.
Registration for the Lake Norman Outlaws fall season is open until early September. Boys in grades 1-8 can compete in the PLL Fall League and girls play in a fall recreation league against other area programs. Boys and girls in prekindergarten and kindergarten can participate in the Young Guns program. The season runs from mid-September through mid-October. League play for boys and girls in grades 1-8 costs $195. Saturday clinics for prekindergarten and kindergarten players cost $175. Helmets and sticks are provided for the clinics.
Modern Strike Tennis is enrolling for its year-round youth tennis programs at Bailey Road Park, offering clinics for players ages 4 and up at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
