Events June 7-17th

Gear up for Big Day at the Lake with a big night on the town. Next Thursday’s celebrity bartending fundraiser will bring together local officials like Mayor Woody Washam and County Commissioners Pat Cotham and Jim Puckett along with Charlotte TV news personalities Tonya Rivens and Joe Bruno, Panthers announcer Mick Mixon and other familiar faces. All tips go to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Thursday, June 7
Beyond Walls is Cornelius’s annual, award-winning exhibition. Open through January 31, 2019 at Robbins Park in Cornelius.
Plein air artists from several states will attend workshop and paint out open to artists who paint in a two-dimension format. Lake and land sites available. Workshop, June 5-7. Paint out, June 8-10. Paintings will be exhibited at the Mooresville Arts Gallery.
Hot Dog Lunch
Community hot dog lunch will be offered each Thursday in June and July. Donations welcome. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cornelius.
Outdoor Concert
LangTree Live concerts are held every Thursday during the summer. 7-9 p.m. at LangTree Lake Norman in Mooresville.
Friday, June 8
Monthly community celebration featuring live music, food trucks, craft breweries, local arts and crafts, kids’ activities, more. 6 p.m. at Oak Street Mill in Cornelius.
Live music every Friday and Saturday night throughout the summer. The Party Parrot Band will perform 7-9 p.m. at Birkdale Village in Huntersville.

Tri Latta Sprint
Test your mettle at this event, part of the AAA Car Care NC Triathlon Series. 6:30 a.m. at Latta Plantation in Huntersville.
Growers-only market featuring nearly 40 vendors with a variety of produce, plants, baked goods and specialty food items. 8 a.m.-noon in downtown Davidson.
Battle Re-enactment
Re-enactment of the Revolutionary War Battle of Ramsour’s Mill, battle site tours, living history presentation of Caty Greene and a talk on “The Community of Ramsour’s Mill and the Crisis of 1780.” 10 a.m.-7 p.m. June 9 and 10 a.m.4 p.m. June 10 at the battle site in Lincolnton.
Blood Drives
10 a.m.-1 p.m. at at the Caldwell Station Community in Cornelius and 3-6 p.m. at the Regal Theaters Birkdale 16 in Huntersville.
Learn stand-up paddleboarding in a safe environment with certified instructors. Ages 12 and up. 3:30-5 p.m. at Aloha Paddle Sports in Cornelius.
