Langtree Live

The Tom Petty Tribute Band. The fifth season of LangTree Live begins on May 2nd, 2019. Join us every Thursday from May to September for our award-winning concert series. We have some exciting things in store this year including an amazing band lineup. The band goes live every Thursday at 7pm

Paddle at Trailrace Marina

Join Catawba Riverkeeper staff and friends for a paddle at Tailrace Marina on Thursday, July 18 at 6:30 PM. Catawba Riverkeeper is providing kayaks and gear to the first 18 people to sign up.

Christmas In July

Zoo: 8-10:30pm, Lights: 9-11pm, Movie: 9pm at Zootastic Park.  $10 a person (everyone 2 and older), Includes walk around zoo, drive through lights, and outdoor movie. Animal encounters, Tiger feeding, Giraffe feeding, Barn feeding, Carousel, Gem mining, Train rides, and Photos with Santa and a baby animal.

Park in the Dark

Join Cornelius PARC, Davidson Parks and Recreation, Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists, and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation to enjoy a hike in the dark and learn about the Robbins Park nightlife, focusing on the diverse moth population. 8:00 PM10:00 PM at Robbins Park

Just Kidding Around

Come jam with Bach 2 Rock. This event is for ages 1-5.  10am – 11am, Veterans Park Huntersville.

Ladies Wakesurf Night

6pm – Dusk at the Peninsula Yacht Club.  Whether you are a first time rider or advanced,  we will get you shredding in one session.  We provide everything to ensure your success is provided.

Abbey Road Live! – A Beatles Tribute

8pm – Visulite Theater.  Since 2002, Abbey Road LIVE! has been rocking the music of The Beatles. Initially a tribute to the monumental “Abbey Road” album, the band has expanded its repertoire to include more than 150 Beatles tunes, from all eras of the Fab Four’s career.

 

Saturday July 20

Summer Raptor Experience

1pm at the Carolina Raptor Center.  Meet one of our animal ambassadors for a great photo opportunity, take a behind the scenes tour of our Raptor Hospital and get an up close look at our Eagles! 8 years or older. Under 16 with paying adult.

Music Jam

Richard’s Coffee Shop, Downtown Mooresville From 9am – Noon there is a music jam with some of the areas most talented musicians and always promises fun and a great crowd.

Create Your Own Character Paint & Sip

2pm -5pm at Brick Row in Cornelius.  A creativity driven art class, guided by artist F. Kernes in his signature style. Join us for fun, drinks and paint throwing!

Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting / The 19th Tee lounge

Moon Landing

Discovery Place Kids in Huntersville. It’s finally here! This is the day when humans first walked on the moon. We will be doing a special egg drop from 11 a.m. to noon to see how our astronauts were able to safely return to Earth.

 

Sunday July 21

A Comedy of Tenors

One hotel suite, four tenors, two wives, three girlfriends, and a soccer stadium filled with screaming fans. What could possibly go wrong? It’s 1930s Paris and the stage is set for the concert of the century – as long as producer Henry Saunders can keep Italian superstar Tito Merelli and his hot-blooded wife, Maria, from causing runaway chaos. Prepare for an uproarious ride, full of mistaken identities, bedroom hijinks, and madcap delight. Suitable for ages 12 and up. 2pm – 5pm at Duke Family Performance Hall on the campus of Davidson College

Young Frankenstein

2:30pm at the Theater Charlotte.  It’s alive! The Theatre Charlotte Student Theatre Guild’s electrifying adaptation of Mel Brooks’ monstrously funny film will leave you in stitches. Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced “Fronk-en-steen”) inherits his family’s estate in Transylvania.

Dungeons and Dragons Demo

1pm – 4pm at Parker Banner Kent & Wayne, Cornelius.  Come out and learn to play Dungeons and Dragons. Free demo for 8 players. 1st level characters provided.

Should take about 3 hours. Ages 12 and up. Spaces available on a sign up basis. Cool 3D map to play on.

 

Monday July 22

Blood Drive

8am – 12pm. Huntersville Family fitness and Aquatics Center. All donors will receive a FREE OneBlood Cooler and a wellness checkup including blood pressure, temperature, iron count, pulse and cholesterol screening.

 

Tuesday July 23

Taco Tuesdays on the lake

6:30pm – 8:30pm, Queens Landing.  Taco’s your way! Cruise Lake Norman.  Don’t miss the drink specials.

 

Wednesday July 24

Yoga at the Cabin

15915 Davidson Concord Road (HWY 73), Huntersville.  This weekly class focuses on breath and relaxation and is for all levels led by Megan Smith.

Tunes & Tales

Join us with your kids for a story time with live music! Our musical story teller, Jamie, will lead our avid young readers in tunes accompanied by her mellifluous guitar and ukelele that complement the book of the day. Repetition and rhythm are the framework of this story time program. Story time is free and open to everyone. 10am – 10:30am at Main Street books in Davidson.

Newsmakers Breakfast

Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden will be the Newsmakers Breakfast speaker July 25 at The Peninsula Club. McFadden, a 36-year veteran of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Dept., was elected county sheriff last year.
