Don’t miss the Cornelius Arts Center’s most popular holiday event, Cocoa With Santa! Santa will pose for photos with your child and the fun will also include holiday crafts, cocoa and cookies. This is a free, drop-in event will be held Friday morning. Come back to the Arts Center Friday evening for an artist reception with Paul Farmer and his new exhibition, “Un-Cover, Re-Cover.” And Saturday is the Lighted Boat Parade at The Peninsula Yacht Club.
Thursday, Dec. 6
Learn about early American Christmas traditions, smell open-hearth Christmas baking, make a craft and visit the farm animals. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Historic Latta Plantation in Huntersville.
Practice your English speaking and listening skills in a relaxed environment. 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Cornelius Branch Library.
Enjoy wine and cheese, cookies and milk, children’s face painting and holiday music. Please consider bringing an unwrapped new toy to be donated to Toys for Tots. 4-6 p.m. at Premier Sotheby’s International Realty in Cornelius.
The North Mecklenburg Community Chorus will present ”Sing We Now of Christmas.” 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at Huntersville United Methodist Church and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at Community in Christ Lutheran Church in Cornelius.
“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” The hilarious classic about a church Christmas pageant invaded by the Herdman kids is fun for the whole family. Nov. 29-Dec. 16 at the Armour Street Theatre in Davidson.

Artist Paul Farmer will give a talk about his exhibition, “Un-Cover, Re-Cover.” Light refreshments served. 6:30-9 p.m. at the Cornelius Arts Center.
The Music Ministry of First Baptist Church in Mooresville will present the 7th Annual Mooresville Christmas Celebration featuring more than 100 voices from the church choirs plus music by the handbell choirs and orchestra. Following each performance will be a reception with a free photo booth and children’s crafts. 7 p.m. Dec. 7, 3 and 7 p.m. Dec. 8, and 3 p.m. Dec. 9 at First Baptist Church in Mooresville.
Saturday, Dec. 8
Join Santa and festive holiday jesters for a hot buffet breakfast. Santa will visit each table, so bring your camera. All proceeds benefit Our Towns Habitat for Humanity. 8:30 and 9:45 a.m. at Red Rocks Cafe in Huntersville.
The Hough High School Show Choir will perform. 9-11 a.m. at Lake Norman YMCA in Cornelius.
A doctor gives a brief presentation on a health topic and then leads participants on a walk. Healthy snacks, coffee, water, and blood pressure checks are offered free of charge. 9-10 a.m. at the Davidson Town Green.
Theatrical reading of the children’s classic “A Visit From Saint Nicholas” with special guests Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Attendance limited to the first 20 children and their caregivers. 10 a.m. at the Cornelius Branch Library.
Christmas-themed tour of the plantation house by candlelight, hot cider and cookies by the fire in the plantation kitchen. 6, 7 and 8 p.m. at Historic Latta Plantation in Huntersville.

Christmas Concert
Lowesville Gospel Concerts presents The Troy Burns Family Christmas Spectacular. A freewill offering will be received. 5:30 p.m. at Living Word Ministries in Stanley.
Drive-through light show, carousel, train rides, tiger feeding, barn animals, more. Open nightly through Jan. 1 at Zootastic Park in Troutman.
Sunday, Dec. 9
Noon-6 p.m. at Birkdale Village in Huntersville.
The Jewish Council of Lake Norman will host a party with blessings and lighting of the menorah, music, crafts, games, prizes, more. 1-3 p.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Cornelius.
Catered dinner and holiday concert by the Lake Norman Orchestra, live and silent auction, raffle. Proceeds will go toward student scholarships, music scores, equipment and other expenses for the volunteer orchestra. 4:30-8:30 p.m. at Langtree Plantation in Mooresville.
Monday, Dec. 10
Bring your letter to Santa and send it on an express journey to the North Pole. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope and Santa will write you back! You can even drop off after regular business hours at our outdoor mail intake. Nov. 26-Dec. 14 at the Cornelius Arts Center.
Art Classes
Registration for winter session of art classes at the Cornelius Arts Center will open Dec. 10. Classes are available for adults and youth. Session starts Jan. 7.
Cardio Funk is held at 6:30 p.m. Mondays and 9 a.m. Saturdays at the Bailey Road Recreation Center in Cornelius.
Adults ages 50 and up will improve strength, mobility and balance through low-impact aerobics, resistance exercises and flexibility training. 11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Fitness by Jeri in Cornelius.
Tuesday, Dec. 11
Member-governed organization offers service projects, trips and workshops. Students in grades 6-12 welcome. 6:30 p.m. at Cornelius Town Hall.
