Earth Jam 2019 celebrates Mother Nature with “green” crafts, tree planting demos, nature walks, and more. Vendors will showcase their environmentally friendly products and services. Letters to Abigail and The Trailblazers will perform, and guests can sample beverages from Dover Vineyards and Eleven Lakes Brewing.

Thursday, April 25

Eurydice

Sarah Ruhl reimagines the classic myth of Orpheus through the eyes of its heroine. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. With contemporary characters, ingenious plot twists, and breathtaking visual effects, the play is a fresh look at a timeless love story. April 18-May 4 at The Warehouse Performing Arts Center in Cornelius.

Benefit Event

You are invited to an early screening of “Avengers: Endgame.” Proceeds benefit the IGNITE program for individuals with high-functioning autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. Tickets are $25 and include popcorn and soft drink. 7 p.m. at Our Town Cinemas in Davidson.

Choral Concert

The North Mecklenburg Community Chorus presents “Cinema Magic: Music and the Movies.” 7:30 p.m. April 25-26 at Huntersville United Methodist Church.

Art Exhibit

Works by seasoned and emerging local artists are represented in all media. Opening reception, 5-10 p.m. at Studio Elie in Cornelius.

“Bright Ideas” Opening Reception

Our first juried exhibition will be on display April 26-June 21. Hear from the participating artists at the opening reception. 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Cornelius Arts Center.

Gallery Crawl

Ride a trolley to see art all over Davidson, enjoy music and food. 6-9 p.m. in Davidson.

Junie B. Jones The Musical

With a new kid at school, a kickball tournament, and a teacher called Mr. Scary, first grade has never been more exciting. Presented by Davidson Community Players’ Connie Company. April 26-May 5 at the Armour Street Theatre in Davidson.

Public Stargazing Event

Join the Piedmont Amateur Astronomers for a free stargazing event. Registration required. 7-10 p.m. at the EnergyExplorium in Huntersville.

Easton Mills Memorial Challenge

Workout and boot camp challenge will raise funds to send kids to camp. 8 a.m.-noon at Lake Norman YMCA in Cornelius.

Family Fun Puzzle Run

Annual 5K in support of the Autism Society of North Carolina. 8-11 a.m. at NorthCross Shopping Center in Huntersville.

Art on the Green

Juried art festival features booths filled with top-quality art works from regional artists plus live music and a variety of food. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 27 and noon-4 p.m. April 28 on the Davidson Town Green.

Family Fun Day

Tours of the public safety and transportation system technologies facilities, free information sessions for parents and interested students, bounce house, DJ, food, more. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the CPCC Merancas Campus in Huntersville.

Hooked on Cornelius

Anglers ages 7-12 are invited to register for this free fishing event. Space is limited. 2-4 p.m. at Robbins Park in Cornelius.

Lakefront Hops Fest

Live music, craft beer, wine, food, kids’ activities, more. 3-9 p.m. at Langtree Lake Norman in Mooresville.

Jazz Concert Series

Join us each Saturday in April for live jazz music from Johnny Conga and his Tropical Jazz Project, the Mike Zinna Trio, more. 5-8 p.m. at Veterans Park in Huntersville.

Sunday, April 28

Kids’ Open Hearth Cooking Workshop

Learn 19th century cooking techniques and get to taste every dish, including green peas with mint, sausage and apples, more. Pre-registration required. 1-4 p.m. at Historic Latta Plantation in Huntersville.

Pitch, Hit and Run

Boys and girls ages 7-14 are invited to participate in this free, local competition affiliated with Major League Baseball. 2 p.m. at McEver Field 2 in Davidson.

Giving Games

Teams will compete in cornhole, mini-tennis and minute-to-win-it games. Tickets include barbecue dinner. Proceeds go to Solace for the Children to bring four children from war zones to the Lake Norman area for medical treatment. 4-6 p.m. at Primal Brewery in Huntersville.

Concert on the Green

The Davidson College Symphony and Jazz Ensemble will perform. 6-8 p.m. on the Davidson Town Green.
