Events April 18 – April 21

The Latta Easter egg hunt is sold out, so make a short trip up to Zootastic Park after Church on Sunday for Easter fun and visits with the animals. Families with rising kindergartners, be sure to attend Beginners’ Day 2019 from 8:30-10 a.m. next Wednesday at J.V. Washam Elementary School. Future Hawks will visit a kindergarten classroom while parents attend an information session with staff and administrators. The PTO Spirit Store will be open, too! No registration is necessary for the event.

If you’re planning to attend Cornelius PARC’s Earth Jam on April 27, now is the time to order your Picnic to Go from Cornelius farm-to-table restaurant Fork! Everyone who purchases a meal will get a recyclable water bottle and an Earth Jam bag made from recycle plastic. Go to www.forkdining.com to order.

Thursday, April 18

Tenebrae Service

Three Cornelius churches—Bethel Presbyterian, LIFE Fellowship and Church of the Good Shepherd—are joining for a service of reflection on Christ’s death and resurrection. The service will be held at 7 p.m. on the campus of LIFE Fellowship in Cornelius.

Movies in the Park

Huntersville Parks and Rec starts its summer outdoor movie series with a free showing of “Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse.” 7-10 p.m. at Veterans Park in Huntersville.

Friday, April 19

Eurydice

Sarah Ruhl reimagines the classic myth of Orpheus through the eyes of its heroine. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. With contemporary characters, ingenious plot twists, and breathtaking visual effects, the play is a fresh look at a timeless love story. April 18-May 4 at The Warehouse Performing Arts Center in Cornelius.

Easter Egg Hunt

Meet the Easter Bunny and princesses, have your face painted, hunt for eggs, more. Prizes for every child! April 20-21 at Zootastic Park in Troutman.

Earth Day Fair

Earth Day is celebrated annually around the world on April 20. Join the Town of Davidson and the Green Davidson community group for an Earth Day Fair. 9 a.m.-noon at the Davidson Farmers Market.

Teen Service Project

Help the library improve lives and build a stronger community. Teens and preteens invited to work on a service project. 2-3 p.m. at the Cornelius Branch Library.

Jazz Concert Series

Join us each Saturday in April for live jazz music from Johnny Conga and his Tropical Jazz Project, the Mike Zinna Trio, more. 5-8 p.m. at Veterans Park in Huntersville.
