Densel Ray Henderson, 93, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Sunday June 14, 2015 at Novant Health, Harris Hospice Unit. Densel was born October 24, 1921 in Union Grove, NC to the late Staley and Vera Barker Henderson.  Densel served his country as a Marine in WWII and then went on to work as a machinist in the automotive industry. Densel was a member of three quartets; Henderson Quartet, Friendly 5 Quartet, and Friendly Gospel Singers.  He also enjoyed gardening.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Godfrey Henderson, son, Mackie Henderson and brother, Gilbert Henderson.

Densel is survived by his son, Ronnie Henderson and his wife Sharon of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Holly, Nicholas, Kimberly, Don, and Tony; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother, Will Henderson; sister, Betty Colvert; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 12:30 pm in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 amuntil the time of service.  Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens, Statesville, NC.
