HOURIGAN

Deborah Mahery Hourigan, 64, of Huntersville died December 17 at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House. She was born in McMinn County, TN on May 21, 1951, to the late Charles and Ernestine Mahery.

Debbie received her undergraduate degree from Emory University and her Masters and Specialist degrees from the University of Florida. She worked as a school psychologist in the Iredell-Statesville school system for 19 years. She will be remembered for her southern hospitality, compassion, selflessness and devotion to the children and families she served.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Mike; daughter Caitlin, 27, of Alexandria, VA; son Michael, 24, of Durham, NC; sister, Cynthia Clayton of Jasper, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday, December 20 at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Dr. Huntersville.

The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday in the chapel of James Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Hudson officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Community Room of James Funeral Home.
