Davidson Town arborist explains the buzz and butterflies

beesMay 13. Bees, butterflies and other insects are starting to make themselves known by pollinating trees, flowers and shrubs.

Get to know some of Lake Norman’s native bees and how to ID them while they land on your pollinator friendly plants.

If you need some native flower ideas, the Davidson Town arborist offers these suggestions of native pollinator plants that will work great in our area:

  • Nodding Onion
  • Bluebell
  • Scarlet Beebalm
  • Broadleaf Ironweed
  • Blackeye Susan
  • Pink Turtlehead
  • Purple Coneflower
  • Foxglove Beardtongue
