Davidson expected to vote on social districts this week

May 8. The Town of Davidson would like to create two social districts: Davidson Social District/Main Street and Davidson Social District/Circles.

Both areas host town activities, including summer concerts

State law has enabled towns to create social districts under prescribed conditions. A social district is a defined outdoor area where alcoholic beverages, sold by an establishment licensed for the sale of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption, may be consumed. Cornelius and Huntersville have social districts.

The board discussed the districts at the March 28 meeting and will consider approval of the Davidson Social Districts at the Tuesday, May 9 meeting.
