Nov. 12. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 1,926 new cases of the coronavirus statewide. The statewide positive test rate was 4.4 percent, as per NCDHHS; the Mecklenburg County positivity rate was reported at 5.3 percent, and on a downward track over the past 14 days.

Hospitalizations

The NCDHHS put statewide hospitalizations at 1,082 today, down from 1,095 on Nov. 10.

Deaths

The NCDHHS today reported 40 new COVID-related deaths statewide between Wednesday’s report and today’s. There was no report on Nov. 11, Veterans Day.

Mecklenburg

In Mecklenburg County, there were 348 new cases reported, and one new death from Wednesday to today.

North Mecklenburg (change from Wednesday)

• Cornelius: 4 new cases, 4,055 cumulative total, 31 deaths cumulative total.

• Davidson: 6 new cases, 2,363 cumulative total, 19 deaths cumulative total.

• Huntersville: 22 new cases, 8,906 cumulative total, 74 deaths cumulative total.
