Sept. 7. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 4,124 new cases of the coronavirus statewide, as well as 123 new deaths statewide over the Labor Day weekend. Total hospitalizations were at 3,779, down from 3,800 last Friday.

A total of 14,831 North Carolinians have died from the coronavirus.

Testing

Positive tests are at 13.7 percent statewide. The goal is 5 percent or less.

Mecklenburg

In Mecklenburg County, there were 1,827 new cases from Friday to today, and six new COVID-related deaths. The county-wide positive test rate is 12.5 percent.

North Mecklenburg (change from Friday)

Cornelius: 48 new cases, 3,580 cumulative total, 26 deaths total.

Davidson: 12 new cases, 2,079 cumulative total, 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 117 new cases, 7,740 cumulative total, 58 deaths total.
