The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 1,020 new COVID-19 cases statewide, and eight new deaths attributable to the coronavirus.

Hospitalizations

Statewide, hospitalizations fell to 763 today, down from 793 yesterday. Two weeks ago today, there were 1,006 people hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Testing

The statewide positive test rate was at 3.4 percent percent in today’s report.

Mecklenburg

80 new cases from yesterday to today. One new death, for a total of 963 county-wide

North Mecklenburg (change from yesterday to today)

Cornelius: -1 case (revision by NCDHHS), 2,859 cumulative; 25 deaths total.

Davidson: 1 new case, 1,682 cumulative; 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 0 new cases, 5,987 cumulative; 53 deaths total.
