COVID-19 update July 9

COVID in North Carolina over the past year

July 9. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services on Friday reported 543 new COVID-19 cases statewide, down from 630 new cases yesterday. Positive testing, which climbed to 4.8 percent mid-week, fell to 3.1 percent today.

COVID hospitalizations rose to 418 today, from 410 statewide in Thursday’s report. There were eight new deaths statewide attributable to the coronavirus, according to today’s NCDHHS report.

Mecklenburg County

In Mecklenburg County, there were 61 new coronavirus cases reported today, and one new COVIID-related death.

North Mecklenburg (change from Thursday to today)

Cornelius: 2 new cases, 2,910 cumulative; 26 deaths total.

Davidson: 1 fewer case (NCDHHS revision), 1,715 cumulative; 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 3 new cases 6,128 cumulative; 54 deaths total.
