July 14. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services Monday reported 995 new COVID-19 cases statewide, a sharp increase from recent daily increases. Hospitalizations due to COVID climbed to 487, from 415 exactly a week ago, when the daily new case load was 451.

There were nine new deaths attributable to the coronavirus in today’s NCDHHS report. Positive testing climbed from 4.8 percent one week ago to 5.5 percent today.

Mecklenburg County

In Mecklenburg County, there were 112 new coronavirus cases, but no COVID-related deaths for three days in a row.

North Mecklenburg (change from Tuesday to today)

Cornelius: 4 new cases, 2,925 cumulative; 26 deaths total.

Davidson: ) new cases, 1,723 cumulative; 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 5 new cases 6,146 cumulative; 54 deaths total.
