COVID-19 new case volume fell in today’s NCDHHS report

Nov. 2. The NC Dept. of Health and Human Services today reported 1,336 new COVID-19 cases statewide, the lowest number in a week. The largest increase over the past week was on Thursday, with 2,885 new cases. Exactly one week ago, the new case volume was 1,643. Saturday saw an increase of 2,805 new cases; Sunday, 2,057.

The total number of cases in North Carolina is now at 278,028.

Tests are coming back positive at the rate of 6.2 percent statewide, and 6 percent in Mecklenburg. The goal is less than 5 percent.

Deaths

There were seven new deaths statewide due to COVID-19. A total of 4,390 North Carolinians have died because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hospitalizations

Hospitalizations are at 1,146 statewide, according to today’s NCDHHS report, down from 1,193 a week ago today.

Mecklenburg

There were 203 new cases reported in Mecklenburg, as well as three new deaths, for a total of 396 county-wide.

North Mecklenburg

Cornelius: 6 new cases, 701 cumulative total; 16 deaths total.

Davidson: 3 new cases, 368 cumulative cases total; 7 deaths total.

Huntersville: 14 new cases, 1,285 cumulative case total; 14 deaths total.
