Aug. 9. Cornelius Youth Orchestra is accepting applications now for a Brass Challenge this month, providing an opportunity for middle-school brass players to receive instruction from some of the area’s finest brass musicians, all Juilliard alumni.

CYO will hold an open house at Bailey Middle on Aug. 16 at 6:30 pm.

Classes for the CYO Brass Challenge will be held on Monday and Tuesday nights at Bailey Middle School in Cornelius. No audition required.

Tuition is $149 a semester.
