Cornelius Police getting 5 new Ford F-150s

Sept. 6. By Dave Vieser. Five new Ford F-150 Police vehicles will be purchased for the Cornelius Police at a total cost of $279,668.97, following unanimous approval by the Town Board at their September 5 meeting. The new vehicles should arrive in October.

The department issued a bid for the five Police Responders, but since only one bid was received, they put the RFP out a second time and received a qualified bid from Duval Ford of Jacksonville, Fla. Police Chief David Baucom said the bid from Duvall Ford is $47,000 per vehicle which is within the budgeted amount.
