Cornelius Early Scholars wraps up biggest year as 11 graduate

Cornelius Early Scholars Class of 2025

June 6. Cornelius Early Scholars, a nonprofit, scholarship Christian preschool, graduated 11 children yesterday, nearly double its inaugural 2024 graduating class.

The preschool, which meets at First Baptist Church on Catawba Avenue, was created in 2022 to serve low-income families in Cornelius and the surrounding towns by providing full scholarships for any family at or below 150% of the federal poverty level.

The non-profit school will be adding a fourth classroom this September and a fifth in 2026 to serve as many as 50 students ages 2-4 and their families.

Registration and donation information for the 2025-2026 school year can be found at www.corneliusearlyscholars.org

  1. I hope this school is being monitored by Child Youth Services. These kind of churches have a history of taking advantage of immigrant children because their parents are trusting of Christian organizations. They don’t know the history of child abuse by priests and pastors in the US. Please keep these babies safe.
