Cornelius contestant will be on ‘Great American Baking Show’

May 1. By Dave Yochum. Nine amateur American bakers will be featured on The Great American Baking Show including one from Cornelius.

Contestant Karis Stucker, a Davidson College graduate who lives in The Junction at Antiquity apartments, says she learned to bake from the Great British Bake Off, this inspiration for the Great American program.

Episodes will be shown exclusively on the Roku Channel starting May 5.

The nine bakers—Martin Sorge, Nirali Chauhan, Stacie Nakamoto, Dyana O’Brien, Susan Simpson, Jonathan Gottfried, Sarah Chang, Sean Liu and Stucker—create a slew of sweet treats.

Stucker says she sold her first cake out of her home kitchen in November of 2019.

For the American show, British judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith join American hosts—actors Ellie Kemper and Zach Cherry—in searching for the best amateur baker in the country through multiple challenges in each episode.
